The Pediatrics Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Outreach Worker to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Recruit potential participants into Healthy Start program, provide orientation and complete referral process. * Provide weekly community education classes to Healthy Start participants and community members and leverage other educational resources as necessary. * Conduct outreach to engage community members, such as through community events, civic groups, library activities and health and social service events. * Assist people in enrolling for appropriate health care coverage. * Establish positive, supportive relationships with participants and community members. * Work with mobile teams and health care providers; conduct health screens, check vitals, participate in case management; make educational presentations to educate the community about health care. * Adhere to University's policies, procedures, and professional code of ethics. * Have reliable transportation, a current Texas driver's license, and evidence of auto liability insurance. * Be willing to transport clients in his/her car. * Performs other jobs as needed.
