The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Community Garden Administrative Associate - Hourly to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Communicates directly with the gardeners about issues, concerns, general questions, etc., answers general inquiries about the garden from both our campus and external communities, and orients new gardeners and volunteers. * Creates, organizes, and updates community garden files and logs. * Coordinates special garden events such as Harvest Days (harvesting food to donate to food banks), Planting Days (educational events for gardeners to learn and plant together), Work Days (events dedicated to garden maintenance), and other educational and volunteer opportunities. * Collaborates with other departments and organizations both on and off campus as it aligns with the mission and purpose of the garden. * Conducts routine inspections of the plots and garden space and works to resolve issues. * Performs general routine maintenance of the garden such as picking up trash, gardening abandoned or empty plots until a new gardener can be assigned, and organizing the tool shed. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. * Extensive gardening experience including organic gardening and pest management knowledge. * Good communication and writing skills. * Must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
