The Career Center Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator to join our team. Responsible for organizing and managing career programs and events for Career Services at Frisco; provide career advisement to all students taking courses at Frisco and work with faculty and staff there to provide career programs and services they want for their department; work with academic counselors on internship procedures, ensure that student internships are meeting departmental requirements and receiving credit for their internship; work with students through classes, student organizations and individually to promote the services as they seek to make career/internship decisions and/or seek full-time employment following graduation; reach out to companies that recruit students from their assigned department and strengthen/start a recruiting relationship with them; ensure that all activities of the office are assessed and reported to the Director of Business Career Services. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Plan and implement career development and job search programs and services to students, by working with students, faculty and staff on the Frisco campus. This includes, but is not limited to, individual advising and group workshops. * Partner with the academic advisors & counselors on the campus to help manage the internship program for their assigned department, insuring that available internships meet all the departmental requirements for credit and the students that apply are eligible for the internship. * Cultivate and manage relationships with current and new employers recruiting students from UNT and UNT-Frisco, in partnership with the staff in the main Career Center in Denton. * Lead job market research efforts for their assigned area, in order to provide current and relevant data to faculty and students. * Work directly with student organizations in making connections to corporate speakers/mentors. * Manage the assessment of career programs and services, and deliver reports to their supervisor. * Provide marketing of career services to the students and faculty in the assigned department. * Experience in working with students is required. The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. * Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops. * Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations. * Experience in networking across departments and programs. * Demonstrated commitment to diversity. * Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects. * Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills. * Some experience in customer service is preferred.
