The International Affairs Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student & Program Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate must be able to be certified with the Federal Government as a Designated School Official for the F-1 visa program. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Provide customer service to international students, scholars, faculty and the public. Determine the nature of the service needed and refer individuals to the appropriate advisor. Manage all incoming phone calls, faxes, and requests for assistance. * Manage and maintain office operations, processes, and efficiencies. Develop workflow, establish paperwork processing priorities, and provide information on I-20 processes and procedures. Train and supervise a team of student assistants and manage work schedules. * Provide front line immigration advising for F-1 students over the phone and in person and refer complex, grey situations to Senior Immigration Advisors. * Prepare letters, reports, records, issue initial I-20s, and other related documents. Proofread office materials and make corrections as needed. Compile data and/or calculate simple statistics to prepare special or recurring reports for supervisor or other work unit members. The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree and one year of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
