The University Library Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Senior Cross Function IT Support Specialist to join our team. As a Sr. Cross Functional Specialist in the Lib TACO department, you will work a variety of technical problems and craft solutions to requests and issues. Most duties will revolve around desktop management & support. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Provide 2nd-tier support for library computer systems and resources. * Lifecycle creation and management of PCs running Windows, macOS, and Linux. * Create and maintain Windows and Linux servers in support of departmental duties. * Create and maintain documented maintenance procedures for systems under your purview. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software systems. * Develop scripts or programs to automate routine tasks or solve problems. * Maintain and manage print queues for the Student Computer Lab & Library Staff. The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree in related field and four years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department. * Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment. * Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware. * Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
