The Office of Research Integrity and Compliance at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Research Compliance Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for assuring research, education, scholarly activity, and service at the University are planned and conducted in accordance with University, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulation in the area of human subjects' protection, care and use of vertebrate animals, responsible conduct of research, conflict of interest management, and export control. Position will provide oversight of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and back-up oversight for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Conflict of Interest Committee (COI) and export control. This position will assist with the development and implementation of teaching materials, policies and procedures as they relate to research compliance; with a primary focus on IRB, and secondary focus on IACUC, COI and export control materials. Position will provide updated regulatory information and assist the IRB Chair with IRB committee duties and reviews. Position will work with the Director of compliance to ensure that all university, state, and federal mandatory reporting requirements are met. Position will be backup for the Director in terms of staff training, a liaison for other units on campus (e.g. risk management services, international office). Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Responsible for serving as main resource for IRB and back-up source for other compliance areas (IACUC, COI). Reviews complex IRB, IACUC and COI applications, facilitates and provides guidance throughout the review process, oversees and coordinates with research compliance analysts, assists faculty and staff with issues related to submitted studies, provides regulatory guidance to IRB members, faculty, staff, and students. * Coordinates daily workflow for efficiency and effectiveness. Facilitates optimal communication and decision making in regards to research compliance. * Develops, updates and delivers campus-wide training materials and tools to ensure compliance with University policies and state and federal guidelines and IRB applications and protocols. Coordinates with other units on campus to facilitate research compliance training to faculty, staff, and students. * Provides administrative oversight and support to the IRB team (staff, IRB members, researchers). Serves as a secondary administrative oversight to support the ORIC director and team. * Assists director with strategic planning, policy and procedure development for administration of sponsored projects and research studies. * Assist with special projects that arise as assigned. The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in research compliance with working knowledge of DHHS, FDA, USDA and OLAW regulations or equivalent training in a compliance, legal or research position
