The Autism Center Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Non-Student Hourly - Registered Behavior Technician to join our team. This is an entry level position that provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a research environment. RBTs complete a comprehensive training program and work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). RBTs implement 1:1 behavioral intervention programs with clients with ASD (18 months to adult) and are responsible for collecting data, conducting assessments, implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures, and documenting and reporting outcomes. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Responsible for the direct implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans developed by BCBA. * Assists direct supervisors in the preparation of client materials. * Accurately collects, records and analyzes data, and reports concerns regarding client progress. * Implements evidence-based practices including behavior-analytic techniques. * Maintains awareness of trends and best practices in the area of autism intervention. * Follows UNT and departmental policies and procedures. * Assists clients with physical needs and personal care according to their needs, including lifting, positioning, feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene. * Attends and participates in staff meetings, training, and special events as required. The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. * Experience working with children. * Basic understanding of autism spectrum disorders and evidence-based practices. * Experience working with individuals with ASD. * Basic understanding of behavior analytic principles and procedures. * Ability to be patient, flexible, versatile, and cope with stressful situations. * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Required: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential. Employee must hold an active credential OR training will be provided and credential must be obtained within three months of employment.
