The Union Administration Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Media Technical Coordinator to join our team. The Media Technical Specialist is responsible for the coordination of all multimedia systems and their applications; the coordination of sound system delivery as requested; the coordination of event video delivery as requested; and the supervision of technical and sound engineer staff consisting of part-time student employees. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Technical set-ups are coordinated as specified in a timely and efficient manner. * Conduct on-site evaluations before event date. * Assist maintenance personnel in trouble shooting as requested. * Supervise staff of part-time student employees. * Maintain a working inventory of all technical equipment. * Provide ongoing preventative maintenance. * Setup of audio and stage lighting equipment in a timely manner. * Attend pre-event meetings and client consultations as requested. * Setup of live video equipment in a timely manner. * Supplemental video production as needed. The successful candidate will possess the following Associate's Degree in related field and two years of audio, video, or interactive media production experience; prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Thorough knowledge of principles of audio, video, and interactive media production. * Considerable knowledge of audio and video recording techniques. * Ability to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, etc. * Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in equipment or software. * Some positions may require knowledge of copyright law and its applications to A/V materials.
