The College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Director UNT on the Square to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Envision and execute meaningful and exciting events from start to finish. * Coordinate events with CMHT faculty and students that serve as a learning laboratory for students in CMHT. * Coordinate special events that align with Denton and UNT events. * Produce and manage multiple event production timelines. * Facility planning, management and maintenance. * Produce reports on event attendance and prepare post-event data. Evaluate, refine and enhance subsequent events. * Attend local events to build UNT profile in community while working with local Chamber of Commerce. * Serve as the ambassador for UNT on the Square, ensuring it is always presented in a positive light. * Maintain strong communications with all stakeholders. * Works with internal and external resources to create marketing tools and maintain consistent branding. * Supports development of multimedia campaigns to promote community impact, including community reports, websites, as well as print or digital collateral. * Works with media to promote UNT on the Square and to build awareness. * Develop and manage the UNT on the Square annual budget, identifying high impact use of budget dollars and evaluating ROI. * Build revenue that contributes to the cost of the operation. * Supervise direct reports to ensure operational excellence. * Performs additional tasks, duties and assignments to ensure the ongoing success of UNT on the Square. The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications: * Bachelor's degree, in Hospitality, Merchandising, Retail, Marketing, Events Management, Public Relations, Communications or closely related field. * Certification or proven experience in Event Planning. * Strong communication skills, and strong interpersonal/people skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships. * Proficient in Desktop publishing software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). * Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and ability to prioritize.
