The Mathematics Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Instructional Lab Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be engaged in front-of-the-classroom instruction in non-credit-bearing lab and recitation sections in support of entry-level college mathematics courses under the direction of the developmental math course coordinator. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Assist the developmental math course coordinator with periodic meetings concerning labs and recitation sections. * Establish a cooperative working relationship with the Learning Center, assist in designing interventions to support student success in mathematics, particularly for TSI incomplete students, and ensure such interventions comply with state laws and regulation. * Work closely with the Math Lab manager to develop a hiring criteria for undergraduate tutors teaching assistants and supervise and evaluate undergraduate tutors and teaching assistants. * Mentor and guide undergraduate teaching assistants and student tutors in the mathematics tutoring lab and learning center. The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Working knowledge of equipment and instrumentation appropriate to the nature of the lab and/or the discipline, and of supplies including operation, set-up, storage, and maintenance. * Working knowledge of instructional applications related to the laboratory and/or the discipline. * Ability to make effective presentations of experiments or software, and provide instruction in laboratory techniques, use of equipment, use of software, procedures, and safety rules. * Ability to supervise work performed by others.
