The Human Resources Department at the University of North Texas System is seeking to hire a HR Coordinator III- Leave Administrator to join our team. The Human Resources Coordinator III (Leave Administration Coordinator) will coordinate and monitor a variety of employee leave programs and services including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Sick Leave Pool, Sick Leave Donation and Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Programs. This position provides consultation to HR team members and employees system-wide regarding related policies and procedures for leave programs and services in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. This position reports to the Benefits Compliance Manager. Work is performed independently, and this position may provide supervision over support staff. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Provides coordination and oversight of leave programs and services including FMLA, Sick Leave Pool, Sick Leave Donation and Short-term/Long-term Disability. * Develops and executes effective training for HR team members, employees and supervisors relating to leave programs and services. * Provides consultation to HR team members and employees system-wide regarding policy, procedure and best practices for leave programs and services. * Serves as primary contact with external vendors engaged in providing FMLA compliance related services for tracking eligibility entitlement, time usage and record keeping of employee and physician documentation including resolving any discrepancies. * Conducts leave audits for FMLA and Sick Leave Pool to analyze leave accruals to ensure full entitlement. * Resolves complex problems for customers with leave program issues. * Provides training and assistance to other benefits compliance support staff regarding leave program inquiries. * Conducts research and develops reports and strategies for implementation of process improvement initiatives relating to leave programs and services. * Consults on development and maintenance of university policies and procedures for leave programs and services. * Stays abreast of current legal updates, requirements and trends relating to assigned leave programs and services. * Assists employees with institutional insurance programs including health, dental, disability, life, long term care, and flexible spending programs when changes occur with qualifying events related to FMLA. * Serves as the FMLA liaison with Office of General Council, campus supervisors and Campus HR teams. * Analyzes data to create and distribute end-user reports regarding leave program utilization in various frequencies/formats and assists internal and external customers in understanding resulting data. * Coordinates with Campus HR teams related to the interaction of leave programs and ADA. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field; and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities: * Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, particularly those relating to area of assignment. * Skill in using computer information systems to organize, store, manipulate and retrieve data. * Thorough understanding of the Family Medical Leave Act and Texas Code relating to administration of Sick Leave Pool and other leave programs. * Critical thinking skills. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities. * Ability to provide a high level of customer service and follow through. * Effective communications skills to express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. * Skilled at solving problems by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach. Ability to keep complex records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. * Ability to plan and organize and effectively manage multiple assignments. * Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrates flexibility as well as a strong commitment to building and sustaining relationships. * Strong business judgment connecting human resources with company goals/mission.
