The College of Information Dean's Office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Grant Administrator - Pre Award (Senior Research Analyst) to join our team. The Grant Administrator - Pre Award will provide critical services to faculty within the college as they develop and conduct externally funded research and sponsored projects. This position works with faculty to track and approve expenditures of sponsored projects. The position supports the Associate Dean of Research & Outreach in developing tracking mechanisms, standard operating procedures, and various ad hoc reporting. This position supports faculty in proposal submission and re-submission, including working with faculty to assemble and write required sections of proposals, checking the accuracy of budgets, and coordinating between team members so that the proposal is submitted on schedule via internal and external portals. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of UNT policies and procedures as well as sponsor, state, and federal regulations governing submissions of proposals for external funding. * Interpret and explain sponsor guidelines and federal policies and procedures governing awards to staff, faculty, and administrators as needed. * Assist PIs in grant writing, including drafting meeting notes, helping to create timelines, proofing and wordsmithing. * Track and manage timelines and deadlines to achieve timely proposal submissions. * Assist PIs in assembling required sections of proposals, coordinate between research team members so that the proposal is submitted on schedule via internal and external portals. * Initiate and upload documents to Cayuse. * Serve as liaison to OGCA as required. * Assist PI's in preparation of forms, budgets and justifications for proposals and awards. * Maintain working knowledge of sponsor systems and forms, as well as OGCA forms and processes, e.g., Budget Builder, Current and Pending, Cost Share, Cost Transfer, and Budget Revision forms. * Assist with IRB applications. * Assure PI is spending in accordance to federal OMB guidelines including A-21, A-110, and A-133 standards. * Approve budget expenditures. * Approve project-related hires and contracts. * Assist faculty in research compliance activities including tracking the completion of Responsible Conduct of Research training, human subjects and animal care approvals, export control training and compliance, and conflict of interest certification process. * Assist PIs to submit timely fiscal and technical reports to Research Services and award sponsors. * Set up tracking mechanisms for these reports. The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, auditing, public administration, or related field and five years of relevant administrative work or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Work independently on assigned proposals and awards, but work as part of a team of central and distributed research administrators to support common goals. * Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong time management and problem solving skills. * Prior knowledge of pre-or post-award administration regulations and procedures. * General administrative experience with budgets, purchasing, payroll, travel with specific skill in budget planning, analysis, and reconciliation. * Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
