The Budget & Planning Department at the University of North Texas System is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst to join our team. The position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Financial Policy and Planning. This position performs complex financial analysis and regulatory work and works under limited supervision, with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Work involves compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating financial data; preparing reports and responding to inquiries; and assisting with development of appropriate action to resolve financial and regulatory problems. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Analyzes and reviews financial data; information; and applicable business, financial, and/or regulatory plans. * Advises on financial objectives and strategies. * Develops and implements internal financial policies and procedures. * Monitor compliance with established procedures, requirements, laws, and regulations; completeness of data; and presence of documentation. * Assist in preparation, monitoring, and coordinating reporting to executive management, Board of Regents and state agencies. * Performs or reviews financial analysis scenarios, such as the fiscal effect of specific proposed Legislation. * Training and development for departmental end users in financial matters. * Assists in administering financial processes and systems developed to oversee regulated entities. * Performs related work as assigned. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
