The Union Administration Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Event Support Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Scheduling and coordination of event- related services for internal and external customers. * Consultation with customers regarding event specifications including space planning, equipment and audio visual needs, day of event client interaction, as well as ensuring the successful execution and payment of the event. * Coordinate arrangements with operational and catering staff, as well as other special needs on the customer's behalf. * May also develop positive business relationships with University departments and meet with organization and business leaders to promote facilities and services. The successful candidate will possess the following Bachelor's Degree and two years of professional experience related to event planning; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Demonstrated event management skills. * Excellent customer service skills. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. * Ability to work on call during events including nights and weekends. * Ability to work effectively in a high stress people-oriented environment. * Demonstrated skill in computer use and related software programs. Required: Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; ability to drive a vehicle and maintain coverage under University liability insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.
