The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Custodial Trainer to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Train new custodians on cleaning chemicals, equipment usage and cleaning schedules. Provide safety training and new employee Facilities orientation within the 1st week of hire and assign new employees to their assigned area. * Conduct quality control inspections of all custodians evaluating and identifying training deficiencies. Re-train custodians as identified through inspections of employee's areas as needed. * Provide guidance, leadership and coaching, mentoring and effective performance feedback to ensure custodial cleaning standards and cleaning procedures are met. Assist with discipline as needed. Create a departmental recognition program for Custodial staff. * Create and maintain training and safety records in electronic database, entering and retrieving information and creating reports for the Custodial Services manager. * Assist Manager in conducting and documenting job interviews. Evaluate candidates and recommend individuals for hire. * Assist Crew Leaders with employee evaluations and daily staffing needs due to vacations, illness and vacancies. High School Diploma/GED equivalent and five years' experience in related maintenance/repair field. Substitution of education for experience allowed. Thorough knowledge of methods, practices, tools, materials and supplies used in cleaning, maintaining, repairing and servicing equipment. ? Thorough knowledge of the operating principles of related mechanical assemblies. ? Ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems. ? Skill in locating and adjusting defects in equipment. ? Skill in use and care of tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair. ? Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others. ? Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
