The University Library Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Budget Officer to join our team. As part of the administrative team in the Finance and Administration Office, this position supports budget data monitoring, compilation and analysis activities. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Monitoring revenues, expenditures and balances for various allocated budget types (operating, travel, gift, fees, discretionary, etc.) Resolves budget specific questions from financial officer and administrative staff. * Utilizes University systems and self-created reports/queries to monitor these budgets * Conducts budget data compilation * Provides technical assistance and support to the UNT Libraries Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration through compiling budget reports and monthly assessments * Conducts cost and budget analysis and will provide technical assistance with fiscal allocation * Assists with documenting budgeting and financial processes and works on projects related to budget preparation and budget analysis * Ensures cash handling processes are followed and will assist with training initiatives * Maintains file organization and updates manuals * Helps with budget forecasting and result analysis * Performs non-routine technical work related to projects and will refer only the most complex issues to higher levels * Other duties as assigned The University of North Texas System and its component institutions are committed to equal opportunity and comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination and affirmative action.
