The Transportation Services Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Budget Officer to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Coordinating the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets for Transportation Services. * Monitoring revenues, expenditures and balances within a variety of types of budgets and maintaining comparison reports to control spending within approved budgets. * Preparing reviews and approving a variety of forms for purchasing, travel, reimbursements, and payroll/personnel. * Review payroll and purchase orders, purchasing card transactions, travel, and other account holder authorizations. * Collecting and analyzing data and preparing statistical and other types of reports for leadership in order to support decision making around transportation and parking strategies. * Providing coordination and monitoring of performance reports as well as federal and state reports. * Developing, preparing, coordinating, and submitting reports and documents relating to budget forecasting, AR/AP, deferred revenues, and UBIT tasks. * Reviewing and monitoring vendor and inter-agency contracts. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree with coursework in accounting, finance, business or related field and four years of progressively responsible financial administration or budget management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
