The faculty member will be expected to obtain funding to support a vibrant research program in the candidate's discipline and engage in undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses in their area of expertise. The faculty member is also expected to participate in relevant regional, national, and international research communities within their discipline. The faculty member is encouraged also to develop interdisciplinary collaborations within and between departments at UNT, including with faculty in the Advanced Environmental Research Institute (AERI; http://aeri.unt.edu). The faculty member should have an interest and participate in our growing undergraduate degree program in ecology (http://biology.unt.edu/undergraduate-programs/ecology-program) and graduate programs in biology (http://biology.unt.edu/graduate-programs), and is expected to help foster their continued growth along with other faculty members through instruction and research.
