The Learning Center Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Associate Director to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Directly supervise and evaluate professional and paraprofessional staff as assigned. * Indirectly supervise student staff including: Supplemental Instruction Leaders, Tutors, Academic Coaches, and Office Assistants. * Assist with monitoring of yearly budget, annual report, and other daily operations of Learning Center. * Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other university departments and personnel. * Advance philosophies of student development and cultural diversity while actively promoting diversity in staffing, programming, and student leadership. * Assist in the development and implementation of assessments, evaluations, and research activities related to Learning Center program operations. * Present outreach programs and workshops that require some evening and weekend work. * Assist with the development, revision, and distribution of marketing, educational, and informational publications and materials related to the Learning Center. * Meet individually with students regarding academic concerns and success. * Participate in university and departmental committees. * Manage center in absence of Director. * Perform related duties as assigned by the Director. The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications: * Master's Degree in Higher Education, Education, Counseling, or related area; and three years of professional experience in providing student services; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Experience with program development and assessment. * Knowledge of educational methods and resources. * Knowledge of study skills programs. * Skill in the development and delivery of educational programs. * Professional counseling skills. * Ability to plan and organize, use time effectively. * Ability to administer budgets, and supervise subordinate employees. * Exceptional communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Ability to relate to and establish relationships with diverse groups. * Well-developed public speaking skills.
