The University of North Texas Study Abroad Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Director to join our team. This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Study Abroad and has primary responsibility for supervising advising staff and overseeing the marketing and promotion of a diverse portfolio of academically focused study abroad programs. As a member of the management team, the assistant director will work closely with the director of study abroad to develop and oversee policies and processes related to study abroad, liaise with internal and external partners on academic and financial aid issues, and contribute to the setting and achievement of departmental strategic goals. This position supervises three professional staff members and a marketing student worker as well as a sizable team of returned study abroad students who serve as campus ambassadors. Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Supervision of advisors and coordination of program and process management * Oversight of program promotion and marketing including the Study Abroad Ambassador program * Strategic planning and leadership * Support of academic oversight and curriculum integration initiatives * Involvement in emergency response and risk management planning The University of North Texas System and its component institutions are committed to equal opportunity and comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination and affirmative action. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: * Experience studying or working abroad or within a study abroad program. * Knowledge of compliance-related tasks such as visas, financial aid, passports,transcript evaluation, and credit transfer processes, etc. * Must be able to travel internationally. * Demonstrated problem solving skills.
