The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences seeks qualified individuals for its Assistant Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2019, Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is for Assistant Adjuncts who will have the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully assist with courses that include, but are not limited to BCIS 3620, 3690, 4680, 4750, and 5750 for the Fall 2019, Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 semesters. Candidate must have a bachelor's degree that is directly related to the course taught. Must have a verifiable record of 5 years or more work experience, or a combination of work and educational experience in systems engineering, software development, and/or information systems management. Additional qualifications for our Mainframe/Programming courses (BCIS 3620 & 3690): At least 5 years verifiable work experience in an IBM Mainframe environment, including COBOL programming at the highest level, experience with TSO and ISPF on the System Z, expert knowledge of JCL and system utilities such as IDCAMS, a demonstrated ability to use the SDSF status procedure to maintain PDS and debugging, and a demonstrated ability to transfer results through the use of the XMIT and XDC commands. Additional qualifications for our blockchain courses (BCIS 4750 & 5750): Several years hands-on work and teaching experience with blockchain is required. Advanced technical courses require demonstrated knowledge of that area which may be through work, teaching experience, and/or transcripts.
