The Human Resources Department at the University of North Texas System is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist to join our team. This position is either responsible for non-routine administrative support for a unit within a department that includes budget tracking and reporting (larger, more varied accounts), purchasing, travel, correspondence, data compilation, reporting, calendaring/scheduling, website maintenance and property control functions OR performs all of the duties previously listed, except budgetary duties, for an entire department. Duties may include providing other administrative support functions to departments and/or programs that have varying needs based on the nature of specialization. Position has more ownership of processes, with increased authority for decision making. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves most questions, including some where only limited standardization exists. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Providing other administrative support functions to departments and/or programs that have varying needs based on the nature of specialization. * Position has more ownership of processes, with increased authority for decision making. * Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. * Resolves most questions, including some where only limited standardization exists. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. * Provide proof reading. * Maintain departmental record retention. * Maintain department contact sheet, organizational chart, website updates. * Coordination of meetings. * Asset Management. * Complete departmental work orders. * Maintain and order office supplies. * Process various purchase orders, interdepartmental transfers, travel accommodations and travel vouchers. The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: * Knowledge of (or ability to rapidly assimilate and retain) University operating procedures, organization and policies. * Knowledge of business principles, practices and techniques. * Knowledge of electronic information systems and accounting systems. * Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. * Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
