The Opportunity

Safety-Kleen Canada is seeking a Refinery Maintenance Electrician to join our team in Breslau, ON. You will be responsible for preventative and electrical maintenance on a variety of electrical power and process control systems in the refinery.

    Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Be responsible for the maintenance and repair of refinery related assets and ancillary electrical systems, including Fire Alarm/Suppression systems as required;

  • Work in accordance with established maintenance and regulatory standards;

  • Work with other team members, maintenance groups, and refinery operational departments to ensure cost effective maintenance activities;

  • Maintain an acceptable level of electrical service inventory and parts, and assist in sourcing, pricing, and quality of electrical supplies;

  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to ensure work completion and effective record keeping;

  • Assists in the organization and direction of contract personnel during routine shutdowns of the processing units;

  • Provide scheduled on call support during weeknights and weekends as required.

    What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

  • Certificate of Qualification for Electrician (Ontario or Red Seal);

  • Instrumentation qualification and PLC experience are assets;

  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings;

  • Experience with repairing and troubleshooting electrical and controls systems;

  • Previous experience in a refinery or chemical processing environment;

  • Good written and oral communication skills;

  • Team oriented;

  • Basic computer literacy;
