Search engines are not just for finding the nearest restaurant or the best product reviews for a particular item. Search engines are a source for answers and information. Data shows more and more people are using search engines for finding a job. Google’s keyword planner tool shows that the word “jobs” is included in search queries on average 550,000 times per month. Now if that does not get your attention, I don’t know what will.
Now the next thing you need to ask yourself is how I get my job openings or career site in front of these search queries. This is where recruitment search engine optimization comes into play. Or we can call it recruitment SEO. Since 2007 I have been fascinated learning how search engines impact career sites and job boards. So much that I am now the president of the Dallas Fort Worth Search Engine Marketing Association. I have taken these fundamental search engine optimization techniques and applied them to career sites and job boards. This is called career site search engine optimization. Also mixed in this equation are the job search engines or job aggregators www.Indeed.com, www.SimplyHired.com, and www.JuJu.com. In my opinion these are the top job search engines and should be a part of any recruiters search engine recruiting strategy.
We have been partners with www.Indeed.com since October 2011 and seen the true benefits of having a career site search engine optimized for Google, Yahoo, and Bing, but most importantly www.Indeed.com, www.SimplyHired.com, and www.JuJu.com.
Now you might be asking yourself “How does SEO fit into your recruiting strategy?” If so, then you might be interested in learning more about search engine recruiting and if your recruiting strategy is search engine optimized. We are partnering with Indeed to present a webinar on December 18th, at 2:00pm CST. Topics discussed will include:
