Tributary Systems, headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with offices in Bedford (mid-cities) and Austin, Texas, currently has an opening for the position of VMS System Engineer.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Install, administer and support OpenVMS OS in large data center environments

Configure and install tape libraries in accordance with company and customer standards
-
Configure ABS backup software environment
-
Must have the ability to work in conjunction with other support personnel
-
Must be able to tune system for performance and troubleshoot system issues

Some travel and support of customer sites - onsite and remotely
Candidates should possess the following:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar
-
5 years experience in a VMS Administration role
-
Some Linux OS experience desired
-
Some testing and quality assurance experience desired
Expertise with the following:
-
Software OpenVMS Operating System, v7.3 – v8.4 ABS software, v4.x

Hardware Alpha servers Integrity servers
-
Networking TCP/IP communications SAN storage
